It's always a treat to see my illustration's printed and in context.... here it is in Ipswich Building Society's annual reports. Looking forward to the weekend now after a busy week - off to London for the day tomorrow....
Not long ago I did some illustrations for some recipe cards for Eat Me - a new food magazine. They look at food through the cultural spectrum of fashion, film, music, literature and art. It's coming out on Monday . I will post up some pics when I get my copy, in the meantime check out www.eatmemagazine.com
Finally the weather has been dry enough to do some rubbings of street signs! I saw a sign in Ipswich the other day to do with Ipswich's nautical history which should make a great rubbing... watch this space.
I'm doing some illustrations for a new London based food magazine, one of the illustrations is set at a market so I was going through an old sketchbook looking at some drawings I did at the market in Porto a couple of years ago and found these fish. I drew the fish using carbon paper...
Here are a couple of prints from a recent lino taster day I went on... using paper stencils and then cutting into the lino, its definitely something I want to do again and learn more.
This photo is from a sunny day down at the Waterfront a few Saturday's ago. I really liked the shapes of the sails and the letters and numbers on them.
Some of my favourite things are: cutting paper, making rubber stamps, restaurants, brogues, tall buildings, photocopiers, screen-printing, takeaway coffee cups, fish, making marks and celebrating things I see.
